Since 5 April 2011 we have been running a ‘Soundbeam in the Community‘ project, funded by The Big Lottery Fund‘s Awards for All Scheme (read the news release here). We also received a generous grant from Leeds University RAG to fund additional costs.
So far we have run successful sessions with the pupils of Gledhow Primary School in North Leeds. Each child received a CD of the music they had created in their session. The ‘magic’ Soundbeam went down very well, with the kids declaring: ‘I want one for my bedroom!’, and ‘This is much better than a Nintendo!’.
August saw Dan & John give a demonstration of the Soundbeam to the Tenfold members at their monthly Breakfast Briefing - more detail here. After impressing at the demo, next month we are looking forward to running sessions with Affinity Trust - a fantastic organisation who support people with learning disabilities.
