Tears to Smiles is a charity organisation, formed in 1994, dedicated to working with disadvantaged children, families and communities. Our mission is to relieve poverty, illness and promote any other charitable purpose for the benefit of disadvantaged children and young people living in Africa, the United Kingdom and the Third World. Maintaining ‘quality of life’ standards anywhere in the world and the UK, to help poorer people, children and also the elderly is our prime aim. This could be through projects, training or workshops to develop skills and add value to people that are not in employment or education training.

The countries we provide aid for in Africa are Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. We also provide aid for Sri Lanka. More recently we have become active in the UK, with branches now in London and Leeds. We are currently undertaking international projects in Sierra Leone and Nigeria, where we work with the local community-based organisations to provide home based care, HIV counselling and testing services. In Sierra Leone we offer amputee and education support by providing prosthetic limbs and training.
